Meru Softball Series 2023: How INFERNO Became the Champions

The Inferno began their journey by winning all three group-stage matches. In their first game, they faced off against UOE and emerged victorious with a resounding 12-0 win. The team’s performance was impressive, with each player showcasing their skills in batting, pitching, and fielding. The Inferno team’s solid defense and aggressive offense proved too much for UOE to handle.

In their second match, the Inferno team took on Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and won by 8 runs to 0. This game was a bit more challenging, as JKUAT put up a strong defense, but the Inferno team’s batting proved too much for their opponents. The team’s strong pitching and fielding also prevented JKUAT from scoring any runs, resulting in another impressive win for the Inferno team.

The third and final group stage match was against the Multimedia University of Kenya (MMU), and it proved to be the closest match yet for the Inferno team. The game was tightly contested, but the Inferno team’s teamwork and determination helped them secure a 6-2 victory. This win meant that the Inferno team finished the group stages with a perfect record, having won all their matches.

In the semi-finals, the Inferno faced off against the Nairobi Wreckers. This game was highly anticipated, as the Wreckers had also displayed fantastic performances in their group-stage matches. In the finals, the Inferno played against the Technical University of Mombasa, who had also made it through to the finals after edging out the Multimedia University of Kenya in the Semis. The next Softball series is set to kick off on the 18th match of 2022 at the Technical University of Mombasa after being rescheduled. Initially, the tournament was planned to roll down between the 25th and 26th of March.
